I think he has a good point about how if you don't do your homework, you are partly to blame for your failed build.

Man, I learned this the hard way. Don't just listen to friends. Start there, maybe, but Google ALL the things about 'em. Look for results. Numbers. Cars in use. Owners' impressions. Do your research.

I do like the idea of exposing the f'ers, though, even though folks who've run into that situation may have naively gone into that situation on their own.

I think what angers me the most about having a car that was screwed up by a shop is that I know it's more costly to unbork borked work in many cases. I get the impression from Vinny that some of the folks who come to him to fix bad work expect it to be the same price as the initial pre-bork quote and no, sir, that dog won't hunt. I'd get fuming mad at that, too.
